Letter sent to the Irish Examiner 31 August 2010

Questions for Cardinal Brady

Cardinal Brady denies that Catholic Church leaders
colluded with British government authorities to cover-up
Father Chesney's role in the bombing of Claudy.

We know this:

On Monday, July 31st, 1972 between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m.
three car bombs exploded in Claudy, County Londonderry.
Nine people were killed, thirty wounded. The town and its people were devastated.

The RUC suspected Father Chesney was involved. Chesney was sent to the Republic ''after secret talks between the then, Secretary of state, William Whitelaw and Cardinal Conway, head of the Catholic Church in Ireland,” who
described Chesney as a 'bad man.'

Chesney is believed to have been 'involved in IRA activities until his death in 1980.’

The bombing was a not just a murder; it was massacre of innocent people.

Cardinal Brady, what do you consider collusion to be?
How do you define it in this case?

A detective friend once said that there are three basic
questions in any criminal investigation.

What happened?
Who did it?, and
Why?

The second and third questions were never answered because
Father Chesney was secretly moved away from the scene of the crime. He was never questioned. This remains an unsolved crime.

The Church handled it like a sexual abuse case. Get the suspect away from the scene of the crime. Fast.

The families had their lives torn apart. Catholic, and Protestant. Forever. Cardinal Brady, how could the church comfort the victims whilst hiding the alleged perpetrator? Do you not see any ethical dilemma with that?

Church officials, British and Irish Republic government authorities had a duty to act, and still do! The criminal investigation was shut down. They obstructed justice.

It was a criminal conspiracy of silence.

The actions of the conspirators, on both sides of the border spit in their ‘Obligation to Respect Human Rights’ (article 1 of the Convention).

The victim’s families were denied justice, and the right to an ‘effective remedy’ as guaranteed under article 13 of the European Convention of Human Rights.

Cardinal Brady said “If there was sufficient evidence to link him to criminal activity, he should have been arrested and questioned at the earliest opportunity, like anyone else.” True. But, this is coming from a man who, in 1975 had children sign an affidavit of silence after they reported being sexually assaulted by one Brendan Smyth.

It was over 20 years from the ‘affidavit of silence’ till
he was brought to justice. The Catholic Church hierarchy hides its criminals from the long arm of justice,
and the hierarchy operates like a joint criminal enterprise.

The Church washed its hands of the matter like Pontius Pilate. There actions were criminal.

Questions For Cardinal Brady

Questions For Cardinal Brady

Cardinal Brady denies that Catholic Church leaders
colluded with British government authorities in covering up
Father Chesney's role in a terrorist bombing in Claudy.

The bombing was a massacre of innocent people.

Cardinal Brady, what do you consider collusion to be?
How do you define collusion in this instant case?

We know this.

On Monday 31 July 1972 between 10:15 and 10:30 am,
three car bombs exploded in Claudy, County Londonderry,
Northern Ireland. Nine people were killed, and thirty were wounded.

Cardinal, the dead were people; human beings. They had lives, hopes,
wishes, feelings, emotions and dreams. And, so this not impersonal
exercise it is necessary to say something about them to put a face on
this massacre.

Kathryn Eakin was eight. Eight! She was 'cleaning the windows of
her family's shop when the first bomb ended her life.

Patrick Connolly, age 15, died eight on 8 August. He was wounded
by shrapnel during the initial blast while ‘ in Rose McLaughlin's shop.'

William Temple was a milkman's helper. He was sixteen, and injured
in the same explosion, and 'killed instantly in the third explosion.

Rose McLaughlin, 52, had eight children. She was in her shop speaking
to a customer when the first bomb detonated. She died on 3 August as a
result of the shrapnel wounds she received.

Elizabeth McElhinney, age 59, was a nurse. She died instantly after
explosion. She was pumping gas outside her family's pub.

Arthur Hone, was a 38 year-old musician. He was the last person killed
from the first bomb. He was hit with flying shrapnel whilst 'in
Elizabeth McElhinney's shop.' He died on August 13th.

Joseph McCloskey, 39 had his life snuffed out from the first bomb.
He had seven children, and 'had taken his four-year-old son...to buy a
newspaper.’ His son survived the blasts.

David Miller, age 60, was helping the wounded (as I did as an 18 year
old Marine in Vietnam- a boy) from the first explosion. When police found
the second bomb, they directed people away from the scene, but, unfortunately,
‘into the path of the third’ bomb.

James McClelland, 65, was also helping the wounded when he was killed by
the last explosion.

Father Chesney was moved south of the border to the Republic ''after secret
talks between the then, Secretary of state, William Whitelaw and Cardinal
Conway, head of the Catholic Church in Ireland.

Father Chesney is believed to have been 'involved in IRA activities until
his death in 1980.’

A detective friend in the US once said to me, that for him, there are three basic
questions in any criminal investigation.

What happened?
Who did it?, and
Why? (motive). Sometimes, this can mean who stood to profit.

In this instant case it was the Catholic Church that benefited by not
having one of its own arrested for this massacre. The same goes for
its handling of sexual abuse cases.

The second and third questions were never answered
because of the collusion between the senior police officers, British
government officials and the Catholic heirarchy.

Father Chesney was never questioned even though police believed him
to be involved, and Cardinal Conway described him as a 'bad man.'

So, like a paedophile priest, he was secretly moved away from the scene of
the crime, and the criminal jurisdiction where the events took place.

He continued to minister on the one hand, and was free to pursue
his criminal activities with impunity.

The families had their lives torn apart. Catholic, and Protestant. Forever.
Cardinal Brady, how could the church give comfort to its victims whilst
hiding the alleged perpetrator? Do you not see any ethical dilemmas with
that situation?

Each and every person, police, church officials, British and Irish
Republic government authorities had a duty to act. This wasn’t just a murder;
It was a massacre! Those who knew and did nothing aided and abetted Father
Chesney, if he did commit this act. They did not only obstruct a criminal investigation;
They shut it down. They obstructed justice.

It was a conspiracy of silence.

How many fellow priests on both sides of the border knew and
kept silent just as did many who knew of paedophile priests in
their ranks.

We do not know the truth about Father Chesney, or his role because
an authentic criminal investigation was blocked.

The victim’s families were denied justice, and the right to an ‘effective remedy’
as guaranteed under article 13 of the European Convention of Human Rights.

The actions of senior police officers and government authorities, on both sides
of the border spit in their ‘Obligation to respect human rights’ per article 1 of
the Convention. But, perhaps this matter needs to be addressed in that forum.

Cardinal Brady said “If there was sufficient evidence to link him to criminal
activity, he should have been arrested and questioned at the earliest opportunity,
like anyone else.” True. But, this is coming from a man who, in 1975 had children
sign an affidavit of silence after they reported being sexually assaulted by one
Brendan Smyth.

Smyth, like Chesney, went south of the border, and hid from police at Kilnacrott
Abbey much of the time. It was over 20 years from the ‘affidavit of silence’ till
he was brought to justice.

The Catholic Church hierarchy hides its criminals from the long arm of justice,
and the hierarchy operates like a joint criminal enterprise!

Wikipedia says that the Irish term for Claudy is Clóidigh which means
“washing river.” The Church did a Pontius Pilate on the bombing, and washed its
hands of the matter. Hear, see and speak no evil!

The Catholic Church is an international
criminal organization. Whether covering up the rape of children, engaging in a terrorist act as Father James Chesney did, laundering the Mafia's money, the Catholic
hierarchy conducts itself like a Joint Criminal Enterprise...like the Mafia, or any criminal organization.

Cover-up, silence or kill even.
When will the DPP bring those responsible for this to the criminal dock? To not do so is continue the coverup.

'Christian Jihad' and more. Was Mossad involved in 9/11? Hey, did you ever hear of the USS Liberty?

Today is another day in our
'Christian Jihad'

below is a link to an article about
Rumsfeld and the Jihad.

Rumsfeld is an war criminal who should be brought to
the criminal dock so that justice may be administered in
relation to planning aggressive war. At the International
Military Tribunal at Nuremburg it was stated:

"that to initiate a war of aggression... is not only an
international crime, it is the supreme international crime".

If the leaders, attorney Generals,Justice Departments, et al
do not prosecute all involved in 9/11 (Mossad too-google
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X63CQ-dXkwU) and the subsequent
wars, and if no other countries initiate prosecutions, then it is
up to the people to indict, arrest, and bring to a 'people's court'
to try them for 'Crimes Against Humanity'
'War Crimes' and planning aggressive war.

Bible quotes adorned covers of top-secret Rumsfeld intelligence reports
By David Edwards and Jeremy Gantz

May 17, 2009

Top secret military intelligence briefings prepared by former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and often hand-delivered to George W. Bush featured Crusades-like Bible quotes above triumphant photos of the U.S. military effort in Iraq.

Less than one month after U.S. and coalition forces invaded Iraq in March 2003, a “Worldwide Intelligence Update” reached then-President Bush with the following quote on the cover of the briefing, above photos of jubilant Iraqi crowds in newly liberated Baghdad:

“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him…To deliver their soul from death.”

Justice demands bankers in handcuffs

Saturday August 21 2010

THE nation still waits and grows weary waiting for people to be charged for bankrupting our country.

How long does it take to read a file and make recommendations? What's the delay in assembling the evidence?

Yes, it's complex; yes, it's time-consuming -- but if there is a problem due to shortcomings in legislation or in the linking of a chain of criminal causation, the country should be told.

The endless silence is sapping the will of the people and having a corrosive effect on our democratic system.

Several people in America involved in the financial crisis of 2008 are serving jail terms.
Granted, Bernie Madoff pleaded guilty, thus saving the court's time, but much work had to be done to bring him before the court.

In this country, by contrast, no file has even been presented to the DPP.

The general consensus among the people at large is a weary shrug of the shoulders and a fatalism that white-collar crime is never punished and that this is par for the course in Ireland.

There is a storm brewing beneath the surface that will shortly explode. The only thing that's keeping the lid on it is the forlorn hope that some people in the future will be led away in handcuffs for destroying the economy and bankrupting future generations.

The Minister for Justice should give monthly bulletins on the progress of the different investigations and what the potential time span is for charges to be brought.

Talk about a whistleblower's charter will not cut the mustard. If there is evidence of criminal conduct, then people need to face trial speedily.

The old maxim that justice delayed is justice denied is a two-way street.

It was coined with the rights of the defendant in mind but it could also be read as being a comfort to innocent bystanders that they would not have to wait in perpetuity for people to face prosecution.

This is not about revenge, it's about decency and the rule of law. Attempts to spin the line that it is all behind us and so we should move on are dangerous.

The cancer that caused the patient to be put on life support needs to be cut out before the patient has any chance of healing.

The following was sent in support of war resisters
to Under the Hood Cafe-a GI coffee house in Killeen,
Texas. Fort Hood.

Hello,

I just joined your mailing list after watching 'Sir, No Sir'.
Dave Cline was a friend of mine from VVAW.

I don't have/do face book etc. but wish to post this message to
all the troops there:

These wars are illegal, as Pat Tillman once said.
9/11 was a 'False Flag' attack.
It was a deliberate pretext for aggressive war. And our
leaders are war criminals.

It is not Wikileaks who are endangering our troops.
Nor, others who oppose the war.
Those who are endangering our troops-you-
and getting them killed...are the CIA, NSA, the
military and political leaders who send you to Afghanistan,
Iraq, and wherever our military is waging war.

The clique who rule America are waging aggressive war.
It is a war for world domination. We must fight their war plans
until they stand in the criminal dock!

How many more years will this go on?
How many more deaths, horrible wounds and
trauma will it take before our leaders are
forced to stop this criminal war.

This war, like the Vietnam War will end when
the troops refuse to fight anymore.

There is is no draft because the war would have been over
by now if there was a draft.

How many of the dozens of military age young adults of the
Bush clan have put on a uniform to fight? 0!!!

Cheney. Mr. Five draft deferrments from the Vietnam War.

Wars are made by the rich and fought by the poor.

They use mercenaries like Blackwater (now Xe Services LCC),
because they know that resistance to the war will
mushroom among the troops. When it does the fighting will stop.

Major-General Smedley D. Butler, USMC (A by Two-Time
Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient) said and wrote
in the 1930s ''WAR is a racket. It always has been.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not
what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside"
group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of
the very few, at the expense of the very many.

I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.'

'How many of these war millionaires shouldered a rifle? How many of them dug a trench? How many of them knew what it meant to go hungry in a rat-infested dug-out? How many of them spent sleepless, frightened nights, ducking shells and shrapnel and machine gun bullets? How many of them parried a bayonet thrust of an enemy? How many of them were wounded or killed in battle?

Out of war nations acquire additional territory, if they are victorious. They just take it. This newly acquired territory promptly is exploited by the few – the selfsame few who wrung dollars out of blood in the war. The general public shoulders the bill.

And what is this bill?

This bill renders a horrible accounting. Newly placed gravestones. Mangled bodies. Shattered minds. Broken hearts and homes. Economic instability. Depression and all its attendant miseries. Back-breaking taxation for generations and generations.'

Those who resist are fighting for justice.

We must resist,
we must resist,
and never give up until we stop thes wars, prosecute our war criminals,
and build a more just society.

Peace be with you

The erosion of civil liberties-I got a taste!

This letter waas sent to the Irish Independent
late Thursday evening.

The erosion of civil liberties-I got a taste!

On Wednesday eve I flew into Cork from Amsterdam at 9:20.

I am an Irish citizen, and proud of that. My ancestors were

forced to migrate. I was born and grew up in America.

I had three Irish grandparents and became an Irish citizen in 1995

or 1996. My ex-wife, and children are also Irish citizens and live here.

Our family moved to Ireland in June 1997, and after completing a BCL

and an LLB at UCC I moved to the Netherlands in August 2006 to pursue

an L.L.M. I was coming back to live again.

After I got my baggage a customs officer took my

Irish passport, and asked me to follow him.

He went into an office and came out within minutes.

He brought me to a metal table to search my belongings.

That did not bother me; it happens. I came from Amsterdam.

It was my turn; I thought.

However, his first question to me was ‘The purpose

of my visit?’

Then, how long did I intend to stay here?

He asked if I have a job? I am a Marine Corps veteran

of the Vietnam War and have disability income, and will

do okay in law and writing. A long time coming. That’s what war

does to young boys. He asked how long I was in Vietnam.

He then asked where was I staying? Do I have friends here? I said yes.

He asked ‘Who are they, and where do they live?’

I stopped after one name, and like an Irish politician at a

Tribunal said I don’t remember. To my shock, I later realized

that my mobile had been on 'record' at a point; it has a mind of its own.

Have airport customs, or the Irish government ever heard of ‘The Free

Movement of Persons’ as guaranteed under EU law?

This was none of his, (or U.S. Customs business), or whoever directs an

Irish customs officer to ask such questions. He was a nice man, and I

hold no ill will for the ‘fishing expedition.’

But, we live in a country where the CIA has flown detainees to torture camps

after a ‘pit stop’ here. Rendition is what the Gestapo did! And our government

co-operates. So, these things happen.

I have been under surveillance before for anti-war activity in the U.S. in

the 1970s. And, after I was in a takeover of the Statue of Liberty by Vietnam

Veterans Against the War (all charges dropped) I lost jobs-the FBI. So, I

know what harassment is. I know it wasn’t a drug search because

my body was not frisked!

I will write and speak against the wars of aggression conducted by my

country, and will speak out to my dying breath. I do not apologize for that.

Because, I have seen the truth of war.

I have been under surveillance before for anti-war activity in the U.S. in

the 1970s. And, after I was in a takeover of the Statue of Liberty by Vietnam

Veterans Against the War in 1976 (all charges dropped). I lost jobs-the FBI.

I discovered phone taps, and more. So, I know what harassment is. But, I will not

Be intimidated.

I want an answer from this government, and the customs office as to why

they were asking me questions reserved for non-EU nationals. Do airport

Customs officers normally ask such questions of persons with an Irish passport?

I think not!

U.S. Urges Allies to Crack Down on WikiLeaks

A longer version of this is being sent to the Pentagon

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-08-10/a-western-crackdown-on-wikileaks/?cid=hp:mainpromo2

U.S. Urges Allies to Crack Down on WikiLeaks
by Philip Sheno access date Tues. 10 Aug. 2010

The Obama administration has asked Britain, Germany,
Australia, and other allies to consider criminal charges
against Julian Assange for his Afghan war leaks.
Philip Shenon reports.
--------------------------------------------

Wikileaks is a source of truth. It shows the reality of what our
war criminals...military and political leaders are doing
in the name of freedom, fighting terror etc.

Obama is just carrying out the war policies of our National
Security State(term from Glenn Greenwald).

Central to war is lying and deceit of the masses of people.
But, the U.S. went into Afghanistan, Iraq, et al not just for
oil, but because the real leaders of America (we don't know them)
have launched a World War...for domination.

To the Pentagon, we will not only protect every source
like wikileaks from harm from government thugs or assassins.
We will encourage many more to speak out, and release
evidence of 'War Crimes','Crimes Against Humanity', plans
for aggressive war and more...and cover-ups of the above.

For if anything, what the release of documents has shown
is the extent of criminal behaviour, and cover-ups by our
leaders...and no new investigation into these events.
What our leaders plan to do is make an example of Bradley
Manning. They aren't investigating the crimes that have
been revealed. To the Pentagon, the only crime is that
Someone LEAKED THE TRUTH.

To the Pentagon: You rely on us...that is the people who
join and are trained by you to handle your secure
communications (Read: evidence of your crimes and
cover-ups) We will develop our own underground railroad
as was done in the U.S.A. in the 19th Century.

To the Pentagon, you are corrupt, war criminals, and
resistance to the last breath is what is needed to stop
the American-Hitler-like war machine.

On September 11th, 2001 a horrible crime was committed
from within. This makes these wars illegal.

To the Pentagon, White House, CIA, NSA et al your
reliance on technology is your weakness.

We will resist.

We will resist,

And we will never, ever give up until every CIA torturer,
the lawyers, mercenaries, generals and admirals, and war
profiteers, bankers oil men, are in the criminal dock.
We have no choice, but to resist, and to remake this world
into a better place. It will be better when the people
rise up and put you in the criminal dock!!

We must fight against what our military is doing without fear.

Paul Meuse
Marine Vietnam grunt

The following is an excerpt from a speech given by
Major-General Smedley D. Butler, USMC (A by Two-Time
Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient)

'WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable,
surely the most vicious. It is the only one international
in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned
in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not
what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside"
group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of
the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few
people make huge fortunes.' So said Major General Smedley D. Butler
in the 1930s.

---------------------------------------
One theme that runs through the writings and speeches
of General Butler is the wars caused by the Bankers and
Oil men.

That's what war is all about-massive profits...$$$ on the
one hand:

Back-breaking taxation for generations and generations.

For a great many years, as a soldier, I had a suspicion that war was a racket; not until I retired to civil life did I fully realize it. Now that I see the international war clouds gathering, as they are today, I must face it and speak out.
