My Two cents on Gay Marriage in New York or elsewhere

The Declaration of Independence states ‘We hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by
their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life,
Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.’

This is true, but not all men or women are treated equally. The Declaration
of Independence was signed by a number of slave owners. Even in the northern colonies slavery had existed. Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, John Hancock
of Massachusetts and John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court
all were slave owners at one time. They bought and sold human beings for profit. (http://bit.ly/iWA9x5)

Yet, while slavery existed it was two Africans who were at the forefront of
the revolutionary struggle against the British. Crispus Attucks, an African
man is known as the "First to Die in the American Revolution" (http://bit.ly/fvMR5v). He was the first killed by British troops in what is known as the
‘Boston Massacre’ on March 5, 1770

An African man named Prince Estabrook, though a slave at the time was among
‘Minutemen’ who confronted British troops on Lexington Green on April 19, 1775,
the first clash of arms between the colonists and British troops in what became known as’ The Shot Heard Round the World.’ These men sacrificed for a country
did not recognize their humanity. Vermont, the state that I lived in for nine
years was the first to abolish slavery in 1777.

The development of the human race has been an endless quest to advance humanity
to aspire to live to higher goals. And, there is a huge difference between the enforced slavery of a whole race of people; the rapes, wanton killings and brutality committed against them then and continuing until this day, versus
the status that gay, lesbian or transgendered people face.

Yet, violence is at the core of suppressing any people or group. In the case
of African-Americans the violence was/is state sponsored terrorism. Facism.
And, whilst the powers that be have grudgingly made concessions to women. The
Nineteenth Amendment ratified on 18 August 1920, that gave women the right to
vote, came after 70 years of struggle by women's suffrage groups. The wealthy moneyed intersts acceeded to this, but they did not with respect to African-Americans.

Prohibitions on renting to gay,lesbian or transgendered persons has been a
recent phenomenon. The right to marriage is gaining steam in various parts of
the US. Some have said that this is in part an acknowledgement of the 'pink dollar.' That is, the power that being a financial or voting bloc, and
influencing elections can have. Bill Clinton was perhaps the first to curry
favour with the gay community both for money in political contributions, and
for votes.

However, the struggle by African-Americans is different because the
discrimination is based on colour.

I grew up in an Irish Catholic family, and to me religious bigotry seems one
of the longest running of all. In some cases religion has contributed more to
hate than to understanding. The followers of Jesus (PBUH) turned into the
greatest mass murderers in history. If you didn’t believe, then your life
could end quickly.

In the journeys to the New World by Columbus the native peoples were brutalized, raped, murdered, and enslaved. He and his men wiped out whole tribes and villages. The so-called conquistadors were also exterminators. They committed genocide! The conquistadors would approach a village and read out a proclamation in Spanish to the indigenous peoples that gave them a choice; either they immediately convert or be put to the sword. As the native peoples did not understand a word of Spanish they were put to the sword. These were Christians.

Muslim rulers were different. At the end of the last Crusade those western prisoners who were in Baghdad were given a different choice. It was very
different from the one offered to native peoples. The Crusaders were offered
the choice of going back home, or staying. Many decided to stay and convert.
They may have liked the women better;-

Women who are at least one half of humanity have been treated as second class citizens. There was a saying of the Chinese Communist Party when Mao was young;
it is ‘women hold up half the sky.’ I have a daughter who is 26. But, when she
was a child I felt anger at the way society treats women because I did not want
her to grow up with injustices and inequalities.

But, there is one thing that people of different races and religions have always shared agreement on, and that ranges from blatant discrimination, bigotry, violent treatment to death towards gays, lesbian or trangendered women. Gay or homosexual men and Lesbian women have been objects of hatred for who knows how long.

In researching this topic I found to my amazement that in many indigenous
societies and cultures in the western hemishpere gay and lesbian peoples were
not just tolerated, but their sexual orientation was respected in and of itself.
In pre-conquest America gay men and lesbians were known ‘as "two spirit" people.’ That is they were deemed to have ‘a perfect balance between masculine and feminine energies.’ See: http://bit.ly/ix9ydX The good Christians were the ones to come and make violence, even death an acceptable practice towards people of a different sexual orientation, but for sure things were different in the pre-Columbian Americas.

Presently, the most tolerant of people seem to be the Zapotec of the Oaxaca region of Mexico. ‘In the indigenous communities around the town of Juchitán, the world is not divided simply into gay and straight. The local Zapotec people have made room for a third category, which they call “muxes” (pronounced MOO-shays) — men who consider themselves women and live in a socially sanctioned netherworld between the two genders.’ (http://nyti.ms/8sp1)

“Muxe” is a Zapotec word derived from the Spanish “mujer,” or woman; it is reserved for males who, from boyhood, have felt themselves drawn to living as a woman, anticipating roles set out for them by the community.’ See: http://nyti.ms/8sp1

It is said that some parents in this region hope that their boy will be a girl, that is a ‘Muxe’ of ‘Muxhe.’ The reason is that the parents will have someone to take care of them when they get old.

I had not always been kind or tolerant toward gay people. I particularly
remember driving through Harvard Square shortly before I entered Marine Corps
boot camp in June 1968. There were three of us, and I and the others yelled
out ‘fags.’ I associated Harvard University with communism, and communism with homosexuality. Was I dumb.

Marine Corps training had a heavy dose of racism, sexism and homophobia, or just plain hate toward gay or lesbian people. We were told that anyone in the navy was ‘a fag.’ There was one exception, and that was the navy corpsmen who go into combat with marine units and perform emergency and life-saving treatment.

Before I left for Vietnam my first time our company was called into a formation. A group of marines had been arrested at a gay bar in one of the off-base towns, and the staff called us together to explain this to us before we read, or heard about it. One of the sergeants said that we may wonder how this could happen. He told us that there was a very good explanation. He said that real Marines aren’t homosexuals like the navy, but the reason why these particular marines were arrested at a gay bar was because ‘they aren’t real marines.’

He said that real marines wouldn’t do that, but that some standards were lowered to get people to join to meet the manpower need of the war, and that somehow a few slipped in, passed boot camp and though they’re called ‘marines’, he explained that they weren’t real marines and would most likely be discharged. To this marine that seemed like to make sense. But, Vietnam, and the war confronted and challenged every belief that I had ever had; though it was a slow process.

At the beginning of my second tour in Vietnam I arrived at a near empty fire base, and would soon join my company on ‘Operation Pipestone Canyon.’ But, before I joined my unit I spent a night or two at the firebase. I was with two Vietnamese soldiers. At one point one reached with his hand towards my crotch. I stepped back quickly, raised my rifle, moved my hand away from the trigger, and switched the safety off so he knew. The other soldier, frantically translated for his friend, and said that he thought I was nice and was wondering… I raised my rifle again, and when they back off I lowered it.

I shudder when I think about that day. I am saying this so people know what I was like, and how f**ked society can be. I was a product of my religion, family (which wasn’t bad about this issue), and military training, and my peers.

It was in college during the 1970s that I had different encounters with gay and lesbian people. One was my teacher, and he was a faculty advisor to our radical student newspaper. As a counsellor, and later during my law training I came upon studies that indicated that people are born with their sexual orientation. But also along the way I got to know people at work who were either gay or lesbian, and I taught me children to be kind to all people. That none is better than the other.

It was during my time in Vermont that a woman I knew who was also a teacher once told me that some of the best teachers were gay men or lesbian women. She had been a teacher herself for almost ten years.

Finally, I was a part of a very ,very ugly incident in Amsterdam in which a biological woman verbally and viciously attacked a transexual woman sex worker.
I was sitting outdoors at Hill Street Blues coffee shop on the Nieuwmarkt, Amsterdam. There were two transsexual sex workers on break sitting at a table
to my right. Within a minute of my sitting down a woman on my left sitting at
the adjacent coffee shop stood up and held her boobs, called to the transexual woman and said ‘My boyfriend likes a real woman; not your type…he likes a real woman. She ran her hands up and down her corpulent body as she said this.

The woman she was talking to, Jacintha (I don’t know if that’s her real name)
tried to ignore her, but the other woman kept going on about it. Jacintha made
a few very good comebacks, and then the biological women got nastier. She held
her breasts and said ‘these are real; not fake ones like yours.’ It went on,
and when the woman Jacintha gave better than she got the woman got nastier.
People walking by, and sitting outside were watching. It was a public spectacle.

I aksed the woman to stop, and told her that I was sitting here and did not want
to listen to the crap she was saying. I asked her to keep her comments to her
side of the divider (that separated both coffee shops where her boyfriend worked). But, she kept going on.

The woman tried one more time saying ‘My boyfriend likes a real woman; not your type.’ The transsexual woman stood up and pointing toward her boyfriend said
‘Well honey I get a lot of men like your boyfriend who like to come down to me
and s**k my c**k!’ I noticed that the boyfriend seemed a bit uncomfortable.

It was then that I reached deep down into my repertoire of skills and pulled
out a favourite I learned from the time I lived in Boston. It’s what I call a
‘back-handed compliment.’ I leaned over to her and her boyfriend, and I looked
at the woman and while pointing to Jacintha I said ‘she is a very nice person,
and she has a beautiful soul.’

Then, looking at the mean woman I said ‘And you have a very, very beautiful
soul. You’re a very nice person, and I can see how lovely your soul is; it’s so beautiful. But, every time you say those nasty and vile things to her you take
that beautiful soul of yours and rub it back and forth in the dirt, mud and filth of the gutter, and you and your soul a way to nice for that. But you keep rubbing it in the dirt, mud and filth of the gutter when you say those things to that woman.’

I have a way of saying something that is not nice while smiling as if i'm giving
a genuine conpliment. I often butt in on behalf of a person being put down.

The woman looked at me very confused because on the one hand I was saying
something nice about her, but something about what I said didn’t seem nice.
Her boyfriend got up immediately, and said ‘we’re leaving!’ I put my hand out
to shake and said have a nice day. My other hand was on a milkshake ready to be used as a weapon. But, he said ‘I don’t shake hands with people.’ And, just to
rub it in I said ‘Oh, that’s too bad; we were just getting to know each other.’

His fists were cocked, and I would have welcomed the opportunity. That’s a bad
side to me. He was about 30 years younger. The strange thing about it was that
the biological woman was nothing to look at. And, her boyfriend seemed to want
to leave before I dished out the ‘back-handed compliment.’

If she did not stop with the ugliness I was going to tell her boyfriend ‘either
you shut her up, or I’ll put a dog muzzle on her.’

Before this happened Jacintha, went inside the coffee shop and could be heard
crying

What I found in just a short bit of research is that transgendered persons, especially transexual women have an elevated death rate beyond the verbal attack that I witnessed. The 2011 Human Rights Watch World Report of 2011 stated that in Honduras 'At least 19 transgendered persons have been killed in public places since 2004; many more have been injured in beatings, stabbings or shootings.'

As a measure of the abuse and violence heaped upon transexuals in particular is

a transexual woman Chrissy Polis was subject to a brutal and unprovoked beating
at a McDonalds. As the attack went on, by two women McDonald's staff members
stood by and watched for several minutes. It was a middle age woman who came in
and tried to stop the attack, and was smacked herself. The following is a video

So, to me, it’s really none of my business if two people, be they gay men or lesbian woman want to marry as an expression of their love for each other. Many Christians will attack this new law, but they forget what Jesus (PBUH) said ‘Why do you see the splinter in your brother’s eye, but not notice the beam in your own eye?...Thou hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.’

And, he also said ‘Judge not that ye shall not be judged for with what measure you judge it shall be measured to you again’

To me it is good when others are allowed the same rights that others enjoy. It is up to God to judge us.

The Libyan Rebels are Counter-Revolutionaries

So far as I know the so-called Libyan rebels (COUNTER REVOLUTIONARIES,
OR TRAITORS, TREASON COMMITTING THUGS AND MURDERERS!!!) may be the only group
that has actively called for a foreign power to intervene on their behalf so
as to tip the balance in a struggle between a legitimate government against
COUNTER-REVOLUTIONARY forces.

Imagine if the the elected leaders of the Palestinian people asked the
United States, the United Kingdom, France and Italy to intervene militarily
against the Zionist Apartheid state of Israel to prevent Israel from bombing
and killing the Palestinian people.

What would be the response from the United Nations Security Council if
the leaders of the Palestinian people petitioned the UN Security Council to
establish a 'No-Fly Zone' over all of Palestine?

What would happen to a petition that requested UN forces or NATO to bomb
any Israeli planes that attempted to fly?

What would happen to a petition that requested UN forces or NATO to bomb
Israeli ships that left port, or their tanks and drones should they move.

What would happen to a petition to any such petition? The reader can well
imagine, and understand that such a request would be DOA (Dead On Arrival)
at the UN! The US,UK, France and Russia would VETO such a proposal. China
may abstain from voting. But, such a proposal would not pass!

What we are seeing is the demonization of the Libyan leader Muammar Muhammad
al-Gaddafi. we hear of rapes. what we do not hear is as Louis Farrakhan Muhammad, Sr., noted that 'Sweden, Britain, Belgium, Norway, Israel, Denmark, Spain, France,

The use of rape was used against Saddam's regime, yet during his reign the US
supplied Saddam with Anthrax, nerve agents and many more chemicals.

The truth is that there is no evidence that can be produced to proved this charge, but it is a most inflammatory charge, and what it is is emotion, that
does not rely on truth.

The rape claim also serves to slpit even the most progressive and anti-war
people, and lead them to the conclusion that he must be removed from power.

The United States and NATO does not and never was for genuine revolution.
Patrice Émery Lumumba was a leader of the Congolese revolution and its first
elected Prime Minister. Ten weeks later he was deposed in a coup during President
Kennedy's term, then he was executed.

Patrice Lumumba's example is what the US and it's junior imperial powers are
all about.

This is the United States, and its same junior imperial powers that have
invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen (with drones) bringing war and installing
puppets everywhere. Are we to believe that these self same powers who once supported these dictators:

These are the works of the United States and NATO! To anyone who supports a
change in regimes of Libya it is the duty of the Libyan people to change their
form of government. On one the reasons for NATO's intervention besides the oil,
and the 144 tons of gold in Libya's central bank that was to be used for the Gold Dinar that Gaddafi proposed...one of the reasons is that their was no popular revolt
in Libya as was seen in Tunisia, Egypt, and is going on in Bahrain, and Yemen
(whose people are being gunned down while NATO turns its head)

And because their was no revolt against Gaddafi, and the imperialst crave what
Libya has they created and financed a so-called rebel group.

But, they are COUNTER-REVOLUTIONARIES

A PROCLAMATION FOR FATHER'S DAY, 2011, By President Barack Obama

A TORTURE FREE DAY


In 2008 I talked about the ‘great responsibilities’ that come with Fatherhood. ‘Fathers have an obligation to help rear the children they bring into the world. Children deserve this care, and families need each father's active participation.’ And, Fathers must take those responsibilities seriously.

I also noted that the vital role that ‘Fathers play in teaching their children ‘right from wrong’ and the necessity to instil values in their children that will sustain them for a lifetime.’

I have often stated that ‘It's up to us - as fathers and parents - to instill this ethic of excellence in our children.’ Please don't ask me to explain what that is; it’s something that my speechwriters write because it sounds very good.

Statistics bear out that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and twenty times more likely to end up in prison.’ So, if a Father is away from the home, whether in prison…or in a strange land as a Detainee this has a negative impact on a child’s life.

An important role for Fathers is to show ‘the value of empathy to our children. Not sympathy, but empathy - the ability to stand in somebody else's shoes; to look at the world through their eyes.’

For instance, ‘songs on the radio may glorify violence, but in my house we live glory to achievement, self-respect, and hard work.’ Not violence. A Father’s job is also to teach children that it is never acceptable to settle problems with violence.

‘I know what it means to have an absent father, although my circumstances weren't as tough as they are for many young people today.

WHEREAS FATHERS DAY is about the importance of Fathers in the lives of their children, and the vital significance that they play in their children’s development and health and well-being,

IN RECOGNITION of how Fathers can contribute to the building of stable, well-adjusted and happy families and thriving communities,

IN ACKNOWLEDGING the impact that this has on contributing to a more peaceful world community, a world free from the scourge of terrorism

AND, WHEREAS Fathers and Mothers both contribute to the lofty goal of peace on earth,

I BARACK OBAMA wish all Fathers a truly HAPPY FATHER’S DAY,

AND IN RECOGNITION of the fact that American values of COMPASSION, INTEGRITY, GOOD WILL TO ALL PEOPLES for Peace Loving People that We Are,

IN ACKNOWLEDGING that this FATHER’S DAY, LIKE THE LAST 11 FATHER’S DAYS TAKES PLACE AMIDST AMERICA’S BATTLE AGAINST TERRORISM,

AND, DESPITE THE FACT THAT WE MUST ADHERE TO THE HIGHEST OF VALUES AND PRINCIPLES,

AND ALL OTHER BLACK SITES (that are currently out of the reach and supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross),

AND WHEREVER TERRORIST AND THERE SUPPORTERS ARE DETAINED THEY ARE TO BE FREE FROM TORTURE,

FURTHER, THE FULL SCOPE OF COMMON ARTICLE THREE OF THE FOUR GENEVA CONVENTIONS OF 1949 SHALL APPLY FOR FATHER’S DAY!

THIS MEANS THAT

VIOLENCE TO THE LIFE AND PERSON, MURDER, CRUEL TREATMENT AND TORTURE OF ALL DETAINEES WHO ARE FATHERS IS HEREBY PROHIBITED ON FATHER’S DAY SUNDAY 19 JUNE 2011,

THE TAKING OF HOSTAGES (COMMON ARTICLE THREE 1.) IS PROHIBITED IF THEY ARE FATHERS,

‘OUTRAGES UPON THE PERSONAL DIGNITY, IN PARTICULAR HUMILIATING AND DEGRADING TREATMENT ‘IS PROHIBITED IF THEY ARE FATHERS,

THE WOUNDED AND SICK SHALL BE COLLECTED CARED FOR (unless the medical unit is closed for Father’s Day)

IN SHORT, THERE WILL BE FULL COMPLIANCE WITH COMMON ARTICLE THREE OF THE FOUR GENEVA CONVENTIONS OF 1949,

WE WILL HOWEVER, be forced, against our will to prosecute the war on terror, and in particular to by any means necessary change the ruthless regime in Libya.

WE WILL be forced to try and kill Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi even on Father’s Day to insure peace, freedom and American style democracy to the people of Libya,

AND, TO THIS END we will use every weapon at our disposal including, but not limited to drones (sport killing from afar), Depleted Uranium (contaminating the air, soil and water for generations to come)

BUT, FATHER’S DAY IS A TORTURE FREE DAY FOR ALL NAMED AND SPECIFIED (that is unless captured and deemed to hold ‘actionable intelligence’ on a possible or imminent threat to the National Security of America. In such cases TORTURE WILL BE FORBIDDEN, but it will be acceptable to employ ‘Enhanced Interrogation’ Techniques)

THE DUNKIN DONUT MAN

I am writing my first novel, and this story will be
in it. It´s a true story. I was 18 at the time. I
hope that’s a mitigating factor to those who read
this and say ‘Men!’, or scum, or anything based
on my individual behaviour.

But, it is also my revealing a bit of who I was,
and what I could be like when I was not acting
as my highest self could be. And, in the Marines
that was often:-

I’m not proud of how I was, at times. During
that time my life revolved combat training and
then surviving combat in Vietnam, and when out
of the combat zone getting drunk and into fights
and brawls.

And, some of that was explosive combat rage and
trauma...and being screwed up from what I saw,
experienced and did.

It meant avoiding court martials; no charges
ever went forward. I learned from my Catholic
school days how to look honest, or innocent...
as best I could.

The week before I was discharged from the Marine
Corps (Sun. 3 May 1970; I was discharged on Monday,
11 May 1970)

I was arressted or detained by the Boston Shore Patrol
who cruised the bars and joints of the red light district
in Boston (better known as the ´Combat Zone´), and
checked the ID´s of military personell, or arrested them
if they were...unruly?


I was detained and written up for:

-disrespect to a superior officer

-foul, disrespectful and abusive language to a
superior officer

-disobeying a direct order (actually more than one;-)

-refusing to comply with request to produce my
military ID

-assault and battery on shore patrol personnel (I
made sure I didn’t strike the officer) causing
physical harm

-resisting arrest

I don’t remember the proper names of the charges.
It’s been awhile and I was drunk.

An Air Force officer with a big ´beefy´ Navy CPO
came up to me and asked for my ID. I had the
classic Marine Corps hair cut...high up, but I
told them I wasn´t in the military. You know I was
just a fella off work having a drink.

They repeated their request for my ID, and knew I
was a Marine. I told them I didn´t have one. The
third time I told them to go bother someone else.
The beefy CPO edged in to me and told me to comply
with the officer´s request, or they´d arrest me.

I was thinking; I´d like to see you try. At that
point, I just wanted a fight, and was sizing up
where to strike him.

The Air Force officer demanded I hand over my ID,and
then I said "I don´t talk to bus drivers." That
comment told them I was definitely a Marine; it´s
what Marines used to say about Air Force uniforms.

There were about seven charges in all, I was chained
to the wall at the Navy building because I was drunk
and threatening.

The CPO came over and made a few cracks at me, and I
turned polite to ask him something. When he came up
to me I kicked him in the balls. Hey, what´s one more
charge?

The worst of it was is that I was within 8 days of
leaving the Marine Corps, I was facing a good stretch
in ‘the cooler’, brig, or military jail. I didn´t know
how long, but a year is a good ballpark figure. Then,
i´d get a bad conduct discharge, which would bar me from
government jobs, and many other jobs as well. This after
going to Vietnam twice.

As the Irish say ´God is Good.´

Within hours the charges were tossed out by one of
the best Marine Corps Warrant Officers. Otherwise,
with less than a week left in the Marine Corps

He made the point to those bent on pressing charges
against me that I´d been to Vietnam twice, and had a
clean record. Plus, if the charges weren´t dropped
then the Marine Shore patrol could arrest navy air
force members...

The same Warrant Officer had similar charges (without
the fighting) dropped against a good Marine friend,
Ed Munro, the year before. On that occasion he asked
Ed 'We're you drinking?' Ed said 'No.'

And, your man said to him 'Well you smell like a
f**kin brewery
.' I had left ten minutes before
the Shore Patrol descended upon that scene.

That part of my life was also about meeting women as
an adult (barely-I was still a teenager who’d been in
combat), and having my first sexual experiences with
women. My first was a hooker on Okinawa, she was a
very, very, sweet woman and human being, and I hope
God blesses her well. She guessed i was 'a cherry.'
I didn't want to admit it, but she could tell. Once
I admitted it she smiled, and said it was okay.

I was also learning about relationships…trying to act
mature, when in reality I was a young man with a huge
drinking problem. I drank in large part to suppress
the trauma and emotional shock and pain of what I had
seen, done and experienced in Vietnam, especially
the A Shau valley.

I was growing into a man, and trying to establish
myself with others, and find out who I was it whilst
trying to make sense of the craziness I had just been
through...wiping up human remains was the worst thing
I ever did. And, there was a lot of pain and regret at
the death of those two marines.

And, I was having fun with friends and doing crazy
things. In many ways I was trying to find or be who
I should be; I’m sixty and still doing that:-

My Marine Corps training for combat was not just about
squad tactics, setting up or repelling ambushes, learning
how to use weapons, (M-60, M-14 and then M-16), or how to
use flamethrowers (a horrible weapon that makes someone
rich), how to set up claymore mines, toss hand grenades,
and more.

Think about it. All those horrible weapons that kill by
roasting a human body, or blowing humans to bits makes
someone very, very rich.

An essential part of my military training was racism;
although I didn´t realize it at the time. The aim was
to dehumanize the Vietnamese people. In all of my
training I don’t ever remember the Vietnamese being
called people. They were called ‘gooks’ ‘slants’ ‘slopes’,
or slope heads. ´Charlie´ was probably the kindest.

Also military training was and is sexist; incredibly so.
Sexist is too mild a word to describe the degradation of
women that became part of our training. The terms for
women used by our drill instructors were ‘c***, b****,
pig, hog, and more. Even in boot camp I wondered what
it was like when the drill instructor went home.

Some of the culture of sexism and violence against
women emerged from ‘The Tailhook scandal 1991’
(http://nyti.ms/k7SwCX ) where 83 women and seven
men were groped and more.

How bad is it? ‘A 1995 study published in the Archives
of Family Medicine found that 90 percent of female
veterans from the 1991 U.S. attack on Iraq and earlier
wars had been sexually harassed.

A 2003 survey of women veterans from the period
encompassing Vietnam and the 1991 Iraq attack,
published in the American Journal of Industrial
Medicine, found that 30 percent of the women soldiers
said they were raped.

In 2004, a study of veterans from Vietnam and all
wars since, published in the journal of Military
Medicine, found that 71 percent of the women were
sexually assaulted or raped while serving.’

And the Pentagon reports that 80% of sexual assaults
go unreported!!

Those are my mea culpas before going on into the story.

The photo: that´s me, and my cousin Bernadette Davis
in July 1969. I was going back to Vietnam. I volunteered.
Bernadette was a sweet human being who was a beautiful
on the inside as the outside. The outside was a reflection
of her soul. She didn´t have a bad bone in her body. RIP.

My first medevac from Vietnam took me to the Chelsea Naval
Hospital, then the rehab barrarcks, and after, to the Marine
Corps Barracks at the Charlestown Naval Yard.

Our ‘liberty’ (free time) started each day at 16:30. Shortly
before that time and after Marines were showering and getting
dressed in their ‘civvies’ – civilian clothes and on our way
to get drunk, laid or raise hell in general.

One of the days I was on one side of the squad bay; our living
quarters; two rows of bunk beds on opposite sides of the room.
There were two Marines on the other side and at the opposite
end from me. They hung out together.

The First Marine came out of the shower and said said to the
second Marine ‘Hey how’d it go last night?’

The Second Marine said ‘Fuck man, I thought I was going to
have to do a wolf’s shear. My arm was under her pillow when
I started to wake up. ’ (Wolf´shear refers to a phenomenon
in which a wold gets it´s leg caught in a metal trap used
to catch a bear or other animal and will ‘shear’ or ‘chew’
its leg off to get out of the trap. The wolf realizes that
it’s vulnerable; it may not know that chewing its leg off
may cause death due to bleeding). It is acting on instinct
to avoid prey.

The First Marine said ‘was it that bad?’

Second Marine ‘How the fuck would I know I was so drunk.
You know you’re waking up and it’s like ‘oh shit’ which
one was she? Oh fuck what did I tell her, oh shit...how
did we get here, and how the hell am I gonna get outta here.’

First Marine ‘Hey, I told you we were going to meet up
with the others. We had a great time. So what happened?’

Second Marine ‘I woke up late today and was hurrying to
get back here before roll call. I told her I had to get
back quick or I’d miss roll call. I just made it. Then,
she said ‘Will I see you tonight?’ And, I was wondering
what the f**k did I say last night? I told her that I
didn’t know if I had duty tonight. She asked me about
tomorrow, and I said I know I got guard duty.’

First Marine ‘She get pissed?’

Second Marine ‘Hell ya. I thought she was gonna throw
something at me. She got up and said’ so was I just a
'one night stand?’ I said no. you’re nice…it’s just that,
you know we’re not going out. I don’t know what I’m doing.´

First Marine ‘Yoúd´ve been better off to say "ya", and not
show up. You should leave out the ´we´re not going out´´

I was almost dressed and she says you Marines are all alike;
just looking for a piece of ass for the night. Do you have
guard duty seven days a week?’

Second Marine ‘I didn’t think of that. It’s always when I’m
waking. I should’ve woken up earlier and got out.’

First Marine ‘You give em a big line of smoozing, and you
don´t think about what happens when you wake up.


That’s when I hesitantly said ‘Why don’t you do what I do?’

They looked at me and smirked, I was known for drinking,
getting into fights and brawls.

The Second Marine said ‘oh ya, what’s that?’ These two
Marines were a few years older than me and more suave;
I called them ‘The Everly Brothers.’

And I said ‘Look when you’re waking you’re muscles are
moving and even your body even before you’re awake, or
realize it.’ But, they know it.

The Marines said ‘No shit. So?’

I said ‘Just that if she starts to wake first you’ll
know, and she knows when you’re waking. The hardest
part, unless you want to see her again is to get out.
but, it’s a bit awkward when you just want to get out.’

The second Marine ‘Ya, so what do you do?’ They looked
at each other and smiled.

I said if I wake and think ´oh shit,´ and want to get
out I start kissing the back of her neck and shoulders
and telling her how nice it was, and how nice she is.

Then, I say ‘Let’s have breakfast in bed. How about if
I go get a half dozen donuts at Dunkin Donuts and some
coffee, and we have breakfast in bed?’

‘Ya, so what’ one of the Marines said, and I said 'I ask
if I should get some milk or anything else at the store,
and say I´ll pay for it. That way you can get dressed...
keep kissing and you can leave without ‘will I see you
again?’ and you´re gone.´

One of the Marines said ‘Man, that’s fucking cold.’ I
said ‘beats a wolf’s shear. And besides she may be happy
when I don’t come back. I only did it twice, but...’

The Second Marine pointed to his mate and said ‘Man, he’s
right, that’s really cold, but maybe I´ll try it sometime.’
I just nodded; they laughed, and I said that I didn't have
such a big head that I knew that the woman might be relieved
when I don't show up.' And, I stay away from that bar after
that.

I was on my way to see a steady girlfriend. Well, she was 24,
and married, separated and with two children. I was 18. But,
I´m a ´family kind of guy´ :-

After that day, there were times when I came into the barracks
the Dunkin Donuts manand one or both of those Marines would say
out loud 'Hey, it´s the Dunkin Donut man.' And, things like
'Hey, you buy any donuts lately?'

´No need to when you´re with a married woman.´

And, soon some of the others had heard about it and called me
'Mr. Dunkin Donuts.'

It’s just being honest about myself. I wasn’t and am not perfect.
Oh, but I’m much more mature; I’m 60;-

Why I wouldn´t even ever think of doing that...now. I could
say (in Lisboa) ´how about I go to the Pasteleria...´ Naw

REFLECTIONS ON THE STATUE OF LIBERTY TAKEOVER JUNE 6, 1976

Much of this was written last year on the 35th anniversary of the
Statue of Liberty takeover by Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

Today was thirty-six years ago when members of Vietnam Veterans
Against the War (VVAW) took over the Statue of Liberty. I was one
of them. I believe that there were twelve of us. We were a diverse
group; Irish and Italian American, African-American, Arab American,
and more.

There were three reasons (that I can remember) for the takeover.

The spark was the expiration of the G.I. bill, particularly veteran’s
educational benefits for a certain section of veterans. Once discharged
from the military a veteran had twelve years (I believe) to use those
benefits. There had been an extension for some veterans, but this was
due to run out unless Congress extended them.

Veterans groups had lobbied Congress to extend the time limits again,
but Congress was against this and decided to let the benefits expire.
But, it was the manner in which they went about it that caused outrage.
Members of Congress who supported cutting the benefits did not want a
hand count of votes recorded. ‘How did you vote’ is not a question that
flag waving Congressmen or women want to answer, particularly during their
next election campaign. So, they devised a way to avoid a hand count from
being recorded.

So they did it like this. Unless a sufficient number of members asked for
a vote count the proposal to extend benefits would, and did die a silent
death. The name/number of the bill was read out, and as a sufficient number
of hands were not raised to ask for the vote the benefits for a certain
group of veterans expired. For Congressmen and women who fund and approve
of war measures that send young men into combat this was a despicable way
to cut veteran’s benefits. A non-vote that would allow every member of
Congress to say to their constituents ‘I didn’t vote against it.’ I call
that ball-less and spineless. It was a slap in the face to veterans.

But, there was a second reason for the takeover. Our actions were also
a protest against the miserable treatment that America’s veterans were
receiving from the US government. I don’t mean the doctors, nurses or
other staff at the Veteran’s hospitals and clinics. They were and are
today, dedicated, hard-working people who fulfil their mission to care
for the wounded and other veterans.

No, it was not them, but the system itself that forces veterans to
fight for recognition of their injuries, and conditions acquired from
their time in combat or military service.

When I entered the Marine Corps (I volunteered for Vietnam twice as a
rifleman; a ‘grunt’) I knew that should anything happen to me or my
comrades the government would take care of us. You know, diagnose and
treat any conditions acquired as a result of our military service. I
was naïve; just as naïve as I was when I entered the combat zone.

To this day I have jungle rot (a fungus) on my big toe nails. The US
government refused to acknowledge or compensate me for it. When I pushed
them they gave me a liquid with a brush to apply to the nails. But, the
bottle had a skull and crossbones sign; it didn’t make me feel too
comfortable. I took it to my civilian doctor, and he told me not to
use it. A foot doctor showed me how to cut the nail back; I do it
about once a month.

The VA, in denying recognition and compensation for the injury said
that I probably got it ‘in my high school gym.’

My first medevac was to a stateside hospital (dysentery and a seizure),
and after a battery of tests the doctor told me that I had significant
deterioration of my right shoulder muscles. I was unaware of it. But,
even today when I take my shirt off my left side (chest to shoulder)
is more developed than the right side. I carried the radio (25 lbs +
two batteries of 2.5 lbs apiece), plus about 60 or more pounds of
gear, and I shifted weight to one side. It was a heavy load.

About a year after my discharge I filed for disability for both
conditions (which still affects me today). I was denied recognition.
I had not reported the jungle rot in the military as it had not
manifested itself fully, but also I was a Marine and didn’t want to
go to the doctor for a minor matter. That goes against you when you
file for disability.

As for my shoulder injury I was told that there were ‘no records’ of
the injury. This is despite the fact that it was listed in my discharge
from the hospital. When I pressed the matter, and asked for my records
I was told that, unfortunately there had been ‘a fire at the Marine Corps
records center’ which destroyed those files. There are many veterans who
have received those letters.

Wars are fought for the benefit of banks and corporations, and they
don’t want to spend money for injuries once the war is over!

In 1971 I went to the VA clinic in Boston for help. I knew that
something wasn’t right. I alternated between wanting to end the extreme
emotional pain that I experienced to feelings of rage. It’s called
‘combat rage.’ I was seeking help for what is now called Post Traumatic
Stress (PTSD), but the US government did not acknowledge the effects of
combat trauma and stress until 1980. I got out of the military in 1970.

So, we had to deal with it ourselves, and we didn´t have a name for it.
The US government knew from the other wars. But, the bankers and
industrialists who actually run America didn´t want to pay for stuff
like that...you know the psychic trauma of combat...the so-called
´invisible wounds.´

It was all about saving the government money. There are some 58,195+
names on The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, but over 100,000 have
taken their own life since returning home. This is the effect of war.

I will always remember the first time I went to the pharmacy at the
VA Clinic on Court Street, Boston. One of the vets a Marine Vietnam
vet and he asked if it was my first time there. I said yes. And, he
asked "What did your bean man give you?" Or, words to that effect. I
looked at him, and he said see the docs are the ´bean men.´ Beans as in
pills. And, the pharmacists are the ´bean counters,´ and they give you
a ´ bag of beans.´ But, it don´t help; it´s just to drug you up"

There was another big reason for the VVAW takeover, and it was a big
factor. VVAW had called for major a demonstration on July 4th, 1976,
in Philadelphia. July 4th was the Bicentennial anniversary of the
Declaration of Independence. The main slogan was ‘We’ve Carried the
Rich for 200 Years. Let’s Get Them Off Our Backs.’ So we were
publicizing that event too, and hey what better place?

We hung two banners from the inside the Statue’s crown. The first one
read ‘EXTEND & EXPAND THE G. I. BILL’ Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

The second one read ‘WE’VE CARRIED THE RICH FOR 200 YEARS LET’S GET
THEM OFF OUR BACKS.’

Shit, the people of the world have been carrying the rich for a lot
longer than 200 years!

When we entered the Statue someone found photos of some members of
the New York area VVAW behind the security desk. The government was
expecting a takeover, possibly closer to July 4th, but we came early
and dressed better. We had an enjoyable time, and if I were in the US
again I would not hesitate to take it over again. This time I would
hang banners protesting the Imperial aggressive wars by the US, and
put in that 9/11 was an inside job.

Secondly, I would have a banner protesting the loss of liberties and
personal freedoms in the US since 9/11 ‘AMERICAN FACISM.’

The third banner would call for an END TO THE ZIONIST OCCUPATION
OF PALESTINE! TEAR DOWN THE APARTHEID WALL, and also for the return
of the Palestinian people to their towns, cities and homes.

Our main concern was that the authorities would try to break in and
get us out, but it was just before closing time when we did the take-over.
An officer came by and read a court order to vacate the premises
immediately. We ignored it. It wasn’t the first time.

Our spokesperson, Jim Duffy was asked how long we intended to stay,
and he said something to the effect that we had a food supply to last
through the summer. LOL! We hadn’t brought food or water.

Seeing the Statue of Liberty without tourist was nice. No queues. No
rush; just the 12 of us. We barricaded ourselves just below the
base of the Statue. We left peacefully when the police finally
disassembled our barricade. As I stepped onto the police boat, one
of New Yorks finest (policeman) came over and shook my hand. He told
me that he had to arrest us, but he sympathised with what we did
because his educational benefits were just cut.

As I was sure that we were going to jail I decided to have fun. I
was being questioned by a Federal Deputy District Attorney. He asked
when and how we decided to take-over the Statue. I told him that I
didn’t know that the others were, but that when I read about the
cuts in VA benefits I decided that I had to do something symbolic.

He mentioned that I didn’t bring any chains to lock the door, and I
said ‘ya, that was stupid.’ Of course someone else had them; that was
luck:- He was trying to establish a ‘conspiracy,’ but it seemed that
we each decided on our own (separately;-) to take-over the Statue...and we
did. That´s the truth.

He then said that ‘well we know that all of you met at the ‘Blarney Stone’
pub near Madison Square Garden earlier that day. I told him ‘Ya, that was
such a coincidence.’ He asked me if we discussed it, but I told him that
I didn’t want the others to know what I was planning in case they screwed
it up.

He didn’t like my answers. And, again I told him how surprised I was to
see the others inside the Statue at the exact moment that I decided to
take it over.

Then he asked me a list of questions to determine bail, such as how
much cash I had on me.

He asked me if I owned stocks, or bonds. I laughed. He wanted an answer,
and I told him truthfully ‘No.’

Then he asked if I owed any securities. He had to explain what they
were. Same answer; ‘No.’

He asked me how much money I had, and about bank accounts. I had to
control the urge to laugh:-

Finally, he asked me if I owned any property. I smiled inside and
said ‘No. I used to own some property, but I don’t anymore.’

He told me that I had to divulge the name and address of the property
so that he could check it for bail purposes. It was required, and it
didn't matter if I didn't own the property anymore. I just repeated
‘but, I don’t own it anymore.’

He told me to tell him what and where the property was located. I said
‘okay but I don’t own it anymore. I once owned the Statue of Liberty,
but it was for a very short time, and I just lost it. i didn't even
have it for twenty-four hours.’ Whew was he pissed. He didn’t think
it was as funny as I did and told me that I’d be in jail.

We were released without charge after signing an agreement not to ever
take over other US government properties, and it was a long list of
places like Yellowstone National Park, Craters of the Moon National
Monument, Idaho, Death Valley National Monument. There was even an
underwater park or reserve: Virgin Islands Coral Reef Monument. The
list was long.

I mean like How The F*ck do a take-over of of an underwater nature
reserve that is over 12,000 acres? Or, try a taking-over of 'Craters
of the Moon National Monument' Idaho. It's only just over 1,100 square
miles.

As it turned out, the government didn't want a political trial of
Vietnam veterans; the had already lost a big one with the trial of
The Gainesville Eight. They were charged with plotting (conspiracy)
'to disrupt the 1972 Republican National Convention in Miami Beach,
Florida.' Early in thr pre-trial process 'Two FBI Agents were caught
during the second day of jury selection.' They were 'discovered in
closet adjoining room used by defense attys. Caught with telephone
equipment, agents say they were making routine check of telephone

But, it was also that the government didn't want to give us the
chance to make it a political trial, and especially during the
run-up to and during the Bicentenial.

When I got back to Boston I was immediately fired from my work-study
job at the Veterans Administration Hospital. I was an admitting clerk
and I heard someone come screaming towards our office yelling ‘He’s a
communist. He’s a communist.’ I thought that it was someone headed for
the psychiatric ward. But, then my boss came into the Admissions office,
and pointed at me and said ‘You’re a communist! You’re fired.’ I told
him that I wasn’t a communist, but I was out the door.

For most of the next two years whenever I got a job the FBI showed up
and I was out.

I survived. I was given work by a veterans group and that sustained me.

If I were in New York or America you better believe that I´d be
planning to take over some prominent symbol in America, and I
urge all veterans...and people of America to look at places like
the Statue of Liberty...and plan a takeover to highlight the
injustice of what is going on today.

The Supreme Court (Facist rubber stamp) would be a good one.

And, today I wish i were there again...Hey guys would you be
interested in...................

CUSTOMERS AS A MATTER OF COURSE...JUST LIKE BANKERS DO!!

I ONCE TOLD A LAW PROFESSOR ABOUT AN INTERN WHO WAS TOLD TO
OVERCHARGE. HE WAS DRAWING UP A NEW CONTRACT FOR A CUSTOMER'S
BUSINESS. THE SOLICITOR TOLD HIM THAT HE COULD DOWNLOAD A BLANK
CONTRACT FROM THE INTERNET AND JUST CHANGE THE FIGURES AND DATE,
AND YOU KNOW...JUST SMALL DETAILS

SO, HE ASKED THE SOLICITOR WHO WAS INSTRUCTING HIM HOW
MUCH HE SHOULD CHAGRE €500?

THE SOLICITOR WAS AGHAST. HE SAID TO CHARGE THE CLIENT THE
SAME AMOUNT AS IF HE MADE OUT THE CONTRACT FROM SCRATCH...
CLOSER TO €5,000 OR SO.

I TOLD A LAW PROFESSOR THIS AND SUGGESTED THAT THE BCL PROGRAM
INCLUDE A COURSE IN ETHICS AS PART OF OF THE BCL PROGRAM. THERE
WAS JUST A NOD OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF WHAT I SAID.

LATER I FOLLOWED IT UP WITH AN EMAIL WHICH EXPLAINED MY REASONING
IN MORE DETAIL. THERE WAS NO ANSWER.

IN THE 1993 I EARNED A MASTERS IN COUNSELING. I WAS BLACKLISTED
IN MY STATE WITHIN 15 MONTHS. I HAD REPORTED TWO COUNSELORS
FOR ETHICS VIOLATIONS;ONE WAS MY BOSS. ONE WAS FIRED. THE OTHER,
MY BOSS RESIGNED.

I THEN SUBMITTED A PROPOSAL TO FORM AN ETHICS COMMITTEE IN THE AGENCY.
I WAS APPOINTED TO CHAIR THE WORKING GROUP. AFTER THE THIRD MEETING
I WAS TAKEN INTO A ROOM AND TOLD BY A MANAGEMENT OFFICIAL:

"WE DON'T NEED THIS" (THE ETHICS COMMITTEE).
WE'VE DONE FINE WITHOUT IT." I MENTIONED ONE NAME AND HE
WAS READY TO LEAVE THE ROOM.
I WAS THEN TOLD THAT IF I DIDN'T RESIGN THAT I WOULD NEVER GET
ANOTHER COUNSELING JOB WITHIN THE STATE.

I DIDN'T MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM.
BUT WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF MY LEAVING THEY WERE FINED
JUST UNDER $1,200 FOR FIRE AND SAFETY VIOLATIONS...
AND EVERY SO OFTEN THEY GOT FINED AGAIN...YEARS AFTER
I WAS GONE.

SO, AT A TIME WHEN PEOPLE ARE BEING SCREWED BY THE
LEADING BANKING FAMILIES ON THE PLANET (THEY ARE GANGSTERS),

AND ALSO THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO SERVE THE
INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE,BUT WHO SERVE THE FINANCIAL INTERESTS

THE CURRENT BANKING OR FINANCIAL CRISIS IS DELIBERATELY
ENGINEERED. IN JULY 2007 THE DRUG CARTEL OF MEXICO, WHICH
HAD LAUNDERED $378 BILLION IN THE PRIOR FOUR YEARS THROUGH
WACHOVIA BANK WITHHELD THEIR CASH FROM THE BANK TO PROTEST
AN INVESTIGATION AGAINST THEM, THE CARTEL.

ALMOST OVERNIGHT WE HEARD OF THE 'CREDIT CRISIS.' THAT IS, THE
BANKS WERE SUDDENLY SHORT OF CASH.

MUCH OF THE LIQUIDITY OF THE GLOBAL-OR WESTERN BANKING
SYSTEM IS DEPENDENT ON DRUG AND OTHER DIRTY MONEY.

WHEN THEY CARTEL(S) HELD BACK THEIR MONEY IT CAUSED THE
COLLAPSE OF BEAR STERNS AND LEHMAN BROTHERS. POOF...NO MONEY
TO LAUNDER, OR A SHORTAGE OF MONEY TO LAUNDER AND THE BANKERS
WERE TELLING THE GOVERNMENTS TO GET THE MASSES OF PEOPLE
TO COUGH UP BILLIONS.

REMEMBER IT WAS THE BANKERS AND THEIR POLITICIANS WHO TOLD THE MASSES

I AM DEALING WITH THE BANK OF IRELAND ON AN ALLEGED
CREDIT CARD DEBT THIS IS THE LETTER THAT I SENT THEM

This is a letter that I sent to the Bank of Ireland regarding
an alleged credit card debt.

To Whom It May Concern,

This is in reference to an alleged debt regarding a Master Card (No. 5462 5871 6039 9651). The Bank of Ireland had without my knowledge, or consent handed over to a third party, private or personal information, data, and financial or other history about me regarding an alleged credit card debt. The third parties in question are Cabot Financial (Ireland) Limited, PO Box, No. 11151 Tallaght, Dublin 24, and their enforcement agents Belgard Solicitors, Block C, Old Belgard Road, Cookstown Court, Tallaght, Dublin 24, and possibly Cabot Financial (Europe) Limited.

In doing so the officials within the Bank of Ireland acted improperly, inappropriately and unethically. I never authorized the Bank of Ireland to do this. These two parties have no legal standing in this matter. I do not recognize them.

Before Bank of Ireland officials acted improperly and unethically, and without my knowledge or consent and involved a third party with no legal standing and gave them private, or personal, information, data and financial, or other history about me I had notified the Bank in 2010 that I would be returning to Ireland from the Netherlands and would address the Banks allegations upon my return.

Further, I stated that I considered the overdrafts placed into both my current and credit card accounts at the end of 2007 without my knowledge, will or consent, to be not only improper and unethical, but to me, it is a banking scam.

When the bank placed these overdrafts into my accounts, bank officials knew that the bank was bust financially, and could only survive by borrowing heavily from the government; that is the citizens of Ireland and their money. Under those circumstances, when the bank put money into my accounts the Bank of Ireland ‘created money without my knowledge or consent.’ That is illegal!

Lending money is a big way that banks make money, but the credit crisis of 2007 meant that banks would not be able to lend money as they had before the crisis. By giving overdrafts to customers when the bank itself was nearly broke, and needed to borrow money to stay afloat, top bank officials knew that if people got into debt way over their heads, the bank could charge them higher interests, fees and charges. That’s what the Bank of Ireland did to me and others. It took me from January 2008 until after my August 2008 credit card payment to bring my balance under the €2,900 credit limit.

When the bank offered me a credit limit of €5,000 I said ‘No,’ and asked for €2,900.00 tops. I knew that I would have problems with repayments on a higher credit ceiling.

In giving me overdrafts Bank of Ireland officials acted improperly and contrary to generally accepted and sound business and lending practices. My financial circumstances did not merit it. I had been having difficulty making any significant reduction on my credit card balance. My sole source of income is disability payments from my service during the Vietnam War. I was a Marine Corps rifleman; a ‘grunt.’ I volunteered twice. I have a fixed income, in dollars.

Bank officials ought and should have known that to give me an overdraft without my knowledge, and considering the difficulty I was having with repayment was entirely inappropriate. That fact alone is reason enough not to extend an overdraft to someone with my limited resources. It’s an alarm bell!

Had bank officials exercised a bit of due diligence they would and should have realized that I was at a higher risk of defaulting because of my circumstances.

The Bank’s actions were not just improper business practices; they were unconscionable! The bank’s actions not only put a greater financial burden on me, but also caused me emotional distress.

In January 2008 I was unable to access my Banking 365 account. In 2009 I returned to Ireland to straighten it out, but I was unable, and could never again gain access to my Banking 365 account. This added an extra financial burden, and was a constant source of stress which aggravated pre-existing medical conditions. I have seizures and post-traumatic stress. . Let me tell you what this meant. Each month I had to wire money to a friend via Western Union so that he could make my credit card payments and deposit money into my current account to cover charges.

In addition, I was being billed for credit card insurance (Payment Protection Insurance PPI?) on the Bank of Ireland Master card. I complained from the Netherlands that the extra charges made it more difficult to keep my current account above a negative balance. I asked that it be discontinued, but was told that I could not. I was charged extra fees for my current account, plus the higher interest rate on the credit card, and other charges and fees. In other words I got a Royal Porking!

I have since found out that customers have been refunded for payments made on the PPI. It’s just another way for the bank to increase their profits.

This is what banks do. My mother worked in banks much of her working life.

I have read the Data Protection Act, 1998 and 2003 with a fine-tooth comb, plus the relevant sections of the NON-FATAL OFFENCES AGAINST THE PERSON ACT, 1997, Statutory Instruments, EU Directives and other legislation going back to the 1800s.

At this point, I am requesting that the Bank of Ireland provide me with:

One, all private, personal information or data and financial history concerning me, that the Bank of Ireland has provided or shared with Cabot Financial (Ireland) Limited, or Cabot Financial (Europe) Limited, or Belgard Solicitors or any other companies, government or non-government agencies or persons: anyone in relation to this alleged, credit card debt. This includes credit agencies.

Secondly, all private, personal information or data and financial history concerning me, that the Bank of Ireland possesses, or has compiled.

Three, I request the original (if any) contract signed for a credit card.

Four, I want to see an accounting of all charges on both my current and credit card accounts and PPI, or credit card insurance charges between 2007-September 2010.

I remind you that the destruction of any data in attempt to avoid full disclosure would not only be completely improper and unethical, but may well entail criminal liability.

You should and ought to have been aware that soliciting or giving such personal, private information, data or financial history may well have entailed a breach of my right to privacy regarding personal, financial or other information as covered by the Data Protection Act, 1998 and 2003, Statutory Instruments, EU Directives and laws. If I find that there was a breach of professional codes of ethics by bank officials, or legal professionals working on the bank’s behalf, I will pursue the matter as a personal mission.

Therefore any consent implied, or that the Bank of Ireland thought it had, was and is without my permission, knowledge or consent to involve a third party in this matter and is hereby revoked and unequivocally withdrawn by me. The Bank of Ireland has no right to infringe my privacy.

I had sold (telesales) MBNA Master Cards prior to moving to Ireland in 1997. We were given training sessions by MBNA personnel. One of the principal points driven home in our training was to rush past the disclosure section. That is, the section which explains how a customer’s interest rate or percentage could rise astronomically. We were told to speak as fast as we could.

Secondly, if a customer asked a question like ‘what is this about,’ or ‘what does that mean,’ or ‘what was that’ we were instructed not to give a straightforward and truthful answer, but to tell the customers “oh, this is just the standard procedure to read everything for your benefit, and you will receive a copy of everything.” So, I know how underhanded and unethical credit card providers and banks can be. That is the reason I stopped, and refused to sell MBNA, or any other credit cards.

When I returned to Ireland and received correspondence from Belgard Solicitors I did the following: I researched (it is ongoing since Sept. 2010) Belgard Solicitors, Cabot Financial (Ireland) Limited, and Cabot Financial (Europe) Limited and the Bank of Ireland (ongoing). I spoke to persons who had dealings with Belgard and Cabot in Ireland, and in the UK (ongoing). I know that Cabot Financial, the third party that the Bank of Ireland involved, has a statement of principles full of lofty words, but they are known as the ‘Bully Boys’ in the UK. In Ireland, persons with prior dealings with both Cabot and Belgard Solicitors have told me just how invasive some of their tactics are.

Since last year I have been in contact with former law enforcement persons and groups who doggedly pursue money laundering trails. I have been researching and monitoring the Bank of Ireland, Cabot Financial and Belgard Solicitors in this regard, and which companies they do business with. What are the records of those companies, have any showed up on lists as being suspected of laundering money, or been sanctioned, or known to be. Sometimes it is just one individual.

When I first opened an account at the Bank of Ireland I had to sign a form guaranteeing that I would not launder money. I laughed, and told the woman, sincerely and politely that ‘All banks launder money.’ She assured me that the Bank of Ireland did not launder money. I told her that
she may not, but banks launder money. I was right.

My experience is that banks and companies even law firms launder money. Since September
2010 I have been researching and compiling which companies in Ireland are CIA (many), Mossad; MI6, or Russian SVR fronts. All intelligence agencies launder money, and engage in drug trafficking. They don’t need banks, but criminal organizations do! The purpose of my research is to establish a link between a front company, or criminal group and the Bank of Ireland or Cabot or Belgard.

For instance, the credit crisis of 2007 (summer) is directly related to the fact that in July of 2007 the Mexican drug cartel stopped sending money to Wachovia Bank through London. That was the onset of the worldwide, or western world credit crisis. Wachovia had laundered $378 BILLION for the drug cartels over a four year period! And, that’s only what we know about! In 2010 Wachovia agreed to pay $160 million to settle, or stop prosecution for laundering drug money. Chump change.

Further, the entire ‘global banking liquidity’ is financed from the enormous amounts of drug money provided by the Mexican drug cartels, and other criminal organizations. When the Mexican cartels withheld their cash Bears Stearns and later Lehman Brothers went belly up; bankrupt.

That is what I have been doing since September 2010. It is only a matter of time.

I have a strong grounding in ethics. I led a working group to form an ethics committee, and write a code of ethics for a counselling agency. In 1994 I worked for the point man in the Attorney General’s office of Consumer Fraud in my state. It was one case, and involved surveillance, research and more. My reports had an individual put in jail a number of times; he was let out within 24 hours, but due to my unrelenting persistence, and the tenacious work of others he went to jail for a good stretch.

In the past I have had persons removed from positions of authority within forty-eight (48) hours
of filing ethics complaints. I will soon submit a detailed report to the Attorney General of a state I lived in that will expose the cover-up of gross negligence, and unethical conduct (it should result in criminal charges) at an agency I worked at 17 years ago. It has taken 17 years of detective work; I am persistent, and close to putting the final pieces of the puzzle together. Most important to me is to strip the legal counsel of his legal qualifications for the advice he gave in those cases.

The Bank of Ireland has no idea of who they are dealing with, nor my capabilities.

I wish to put you on notice that when I establish improper, unethical, or illegal conduct the only questions that will remain will be who did what? How, and why? And, I will find out.

The other questions will be how the Bank of Ireland proposes to compensate me, both monetarily and non-monetarily, and if the Bank wishes to settle the matter in or out of court. It matters not to me.

I have met other individuals who have had their entire credit card balances erased by
The Bank of Ireland for overcharging, unethical or improper business practices, and other reasons.

This matter could be resolved quickly if the Bank of Ireland erases the alleged debt. Secondly, to compensate me properly for what the bank has done to me, and in overcharging me all along the way. The bank acted improperly in giving me overdrafts, and then whacking me with an assortment of fees.

To pass my personal and private data on to third parties that has no standing in these matters was improper, unethical and compounds a wrong; grievously. This ordeal has aggravated both of my pre-existing medical conditions; seizures and Post-Traumatic Stress.

I will allow for ten days for the bank to respond to the requests. I do not wish to be contacted by phone, nor in person. I wish the contents of what has been divulged with regard to me as stated
above to be forwarded to me in the post.

Any further contact by a third party on behalf of the bank or by the bank itself beyond requested information, unless an offer to settle the matter as the bank has with others will be deemed harassment and the aggravation of pre-existing medical conditions by virtue of negligently induced stress.

I am writing my first novel, and attempting to finish an L.L.M. that is my priority; if the Bank erases the alleged debt and compensates me properly for the damage done, I can drop my research, and concentrate on more important things. Once I find criminal activity I am duty bound to report it, and I will find it if I have to go down that road.
